Information
1. Soft to medium hard (referring to grades 1-6 of the diamond core drilling rock drillability grading table) and complete homogeneous rock formations, generally, natural surface-inlaid drill bits, composite drill bits, polycrystalline drill bits, and some sintered body drill bits can be used.

2. For hard to hard and dense rock formations (grade 7-12 in the grading table), it is generally suitable to use an impregnated drill bit, a concentric circular or staggered pointed ring groove drill bit, or a fine-grained surface inlaid diamond drill bit.

3. In broken, soft-hard interbedded, fractured or strongly abrasive rock formations, such as coal-measure formations, tine-type broad-spectrum drills or electroplated impregnated drills with good wear resistance and reinforcement should be used.

4. The principle of choosing the wear resistance of the carcass according to the abrasiveness, weathering degree and crushing degree of the rock is:

(1) For strong abrasive rock formations, use high wear-resistance carcasses.

(2) For moderately abrasive rock formations, choose a matrix with moderate wear resistance. For weakly abrasive rock formations, use a low-wear-resistance carcass.

(3) For complex rock formations, the stronger and harder the abrasiveness is, the diamond bits with good diamond grade and relatively finer grain size are selected.

(4) For strong abrasive and relatively broken rock formations, under the condition of ensuring good diamond inlay, diamond bits with higher diamond concentration are selected. Conversely, for homogeneous, dense and weakly abrasive rock formations, diamond drill bits with lower diamond concentration should be used.

(5) The rock formation is soft (grade 1-4), and there is a lot of powder discharge, so use a composite drill bit or a polycrystalline drill bit. For coring of rock formations that are easy to be eroded, bottom jet drills should be used.
